East Amherst, NY, April 14th, 2021 – PGA REACH WNY, the charitable arm of the Western New York PGA, has elected it’s next President.  Tim Fries, PGA will take over as President after a three year term as Vice President.  Tim is a PGA Professional and the owner of Glen Oak GC in East Amherst, NY which is home to PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), The PGA Junior League Section Championship, Doubles Golf National Qualifier, First Tee of WNY and is the official training ground of Special Olympics WNY golf.  Mr. Fries has served in numerous governance roles for both the Western New York Section, PGA and the National PGA of America Organization and will bring an array of leadership.

“I am humbled and honored to follow in the footsteps of Michael O’Connor, PGA who has made a major impact in the community during his presidency from 2018-2020.  PGA REACH WNY was created by my fellow WNYPGA Professionals to use the game of golf to positively impact the community in WNY.  I look forward to working alongside fellow PGA REACH WNY Board Members, Section Professionals, Trustees and partners to serve the underserved through our three pillars of youth, military and diversity and inclusion,” said Tim Fries.

Michael D’Agostino (Penfield CC) has been elected to Vice President, Jeff Mietus (Custom Turf) will serve as Secretary, and Michael O’Connor (The Ridge GC) will serve as Treasurer to round out the PGA Professionals on the Board.  Jamie Miller (UBS) has signed on to another three year term as Buffalo Independent Director and Mike Merriman (Waterford Group NY) is the new Rochester Independent Director.
