The Western New York PGA Section (WNYPGA) is pleased to announce the hiring of its fourth PGA WORKS Fellow, Taylor Hunter of Buffalo, NY. Hunter will join the Western NY PGA Staff in May of 2022 for a 12-month internship.
“I’m delighted to be a part of the Western New York PGA team.” “I’m excited to start my journey in golf with such a great organization and to help expand the diversity in the sport of golf in Western New York,” Hunter shared.
Taylor will be returning to her roots to broaden her horizons and learn more about the golf industry! Hunter, who was born and raised in Buffalo, NY, will be graduating from SUNY Cortland with a degree in Sport Management this May. Hunter is an active member of many organizations such as; the track and field team, the sport management club, the President of the Student Government Association and Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
The PGA WORKS Fellowship aspires to be the most valuable entry-level employment opportunity for individuals from diverse backgrounds to gain experience in all facets of the golf industry.
The primary responsibilities of Ms. Hunter will be to support and execute philanthropic activities for the Western New York PGA and PGA REACH WNY, including PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), junior golf programming, such as the Junior Tour, PGA Jr. League and Drive, Chip & Putt. Additionally, Ms. Hunter will play an integral role assisting with marketing and communications efforts to promote WNYPGA Professionals.
The Western New York PGA and PGA REACH WNY are fortunate to once again have the support of PGA REACH National to hire a PGA Works Fellow in 2022. Taylor is the fourth fellow for the Section since 2019.
