Rush, NY (September 19, 2021) – Wild Wood CC members and PGA Owner Mike Sweazy hosted their first ever Western New York PGA (WNYPGA) Pro-Am on this past Sunday. The tournament was named the Tom Haefner Memorial Pro-Am after a gentleman who was very involved in growing youth golf in the Rochester region. Eighteen WNYPGA Club Professionals competed in an individual ROLEX Player of the Year Stroke Play competition while at the same time playing with amateurs at the club in a best 2 of 5 shamble.
Winning the team event (and pictured above) was Mike Sweazy, PGA and his team of Jesse Cicione, Heather Cicione, Dave DeLary and Kelly DeLary. The team fired a 25-under par 117 to claim first place.
Taking Low Professional was Kirk Stauffer (Chautauqua GC) with an even par 71.
Claiming low pro and jumping back in to first place in the Player of the Year Points race was Rob Krajewski of Glen Oak GC. Rob was the only professional able to get under par and posted a 2-under par 69. Tied for runner-up was Kirk Stauffer (Chautauqua GC) and Cory Blanchard (CC of Buffalo).
