WNYPGA Professionals Are Excited to Give Back to Local Veterans
Transit Valley CC, May 28th - LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE (20 attendees)- Judy Alvarez, PGA & LPGA, the PGA of America’s national adaptive golf trainer, will be in town presenting a day-long session in preparation of our HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) Program which starts June 11 at Grover Cleveland GC, in conjunction with Erie County Parks and the VA WNY Healthcare System . Special instructions will be provided on golf instruction for students with a variety of both physical and mental disabilities.
The session begins at 8:00am, lunch at TVCC follows, and then we will conduct outdoor sessions at Grover Cleveland GC. The cost of this event will be $25, which includes lunch and a copy of Judy’s book “Broken Tees and Mended Hearts”. 1 MSR hour per hour of attendance (up to 8 hours of PGA-delivered instruction), priority on the 23rd will be given to those who can commit to Jeff Mietus (688-7311) to be an instructor for the HOPE Program. Approximately 6-8 section professionals are needed as instructors for this class.
PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST attend this class in order to volunteer for the HOPE Program lessons.

Monday, May 13th, Niagara Falls CC, Lewiston, NY - Danny Yustin, an amateur from Transit Valley CC, posts the only red number of the day with a 3-under par 67 to take medalist in the event, and finish top amateur. The 2012 WNYPGA player of the year Dwayne Randall wins the first major of the year by posting an even par (70) to become the 2013 Club Car WNY Open Champion. Mark Kirk (Crag Burn GC) and Kirk Stauffer (Pine Acres CC) become Senior Professional Co-Champs with a pair of 73's. Friday, May 10th- Webster GC, Webster, NY- WNYPGA Assistant Professional Eric Mabee (Oak Hill CC) placed first in the Pro-Am and Professional portion of the Make-A-Wish Pro-Am. Eric shot a 68 (-4) and his team of Jeff Lowenguth, Bob Stevenson, and Mark Peterson shot a 130 (best 2 of 4) to win the Pro-Am portion of the competition. Opens May 24th at the Rochester Museum & Science Center
The 95th PGA Championship History Exhibit - Celebrating the Champions of the Season's Final Major - will commemorate the Championship's return to New York by opening May 24, at the Rochester Museum & Science Center.
Monday, May 6th - Brook-Lea CC, Rochester, NY - WNYPGA Assistant Professional Mark Kirk (Crag Burn GC) and his amateur partner Raman Luthra post a team score of 64 (-8) to win the Titleist Scratch Pro-Am. Thank you to host PGA Professional Jon Hoecker and his staff at Brook-Lea CC & a special thank you to Jeff Beaver & Titleist for their support of the event and the WNYPGA Section!
Six locations in Rochester, NY will be used to promote Get Golf Ready. Each location will host two sessions: 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. for beginners & 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for intermediate players. Three stations will be set-up at each venue and will include paid instruction for three PGA Professionals.

Join us at Gananda Central Athletic Stadium on Friday, May 24th and Saturday, May 25th from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM and learn the game of golf under the lights. Each night will include Music, GolfZilla, Prizes, Raffles Contests, PGA Instruction and Much More.
Monday, April 29th, 2013, Ridgemont CC, Rochester, NY – Ridgemont CC hosted The TaylorMade Senior Junior Pro-Pro/Pro-Am to open the 2013 WNYPGA Professional Season. Seventeen teams competed in the competition. WNYPGA Professionals Bob King & Nick Luther, from Lakeside CC, posted a better 1 of 2 score of 67 (-5) to win the pro-pro. WNYPGA Professionals Kirk Stauffer (Pine Acres CC) and Apprentice Ryan Swanson (Pinehurst GC), along with their amateurs Keith Stauffer and Nolan Swanson, turned in a team score of 138 (-6) to win the pro-am competition. Thank you to Steve Gertner & TaylorMade for their support!
The YAMAHA/Nuttall Golf Cars Pro-Official event will be held on Tuesday, May 28th at Penfield CC, Penfield, NY. The NEW FORMAT will be the Best 2 of 4 (1 pro, 3 amateurs) and will be an awesome day for you and your board to enjoy! Thank you to Jeff Randall, PGA and YAMAHA/Nuttall Golf Cars for the new partnership in 2013.
